Public WorksHoliday Trash ScheduleSpring Cleanup 2008The Department of Public Works maintains the City of Maumelle?s streets, street signs, drainage ditches, and equipment within the city. Other duties include the day-to-day operation and supervision of Maumelle Animal Services, Maumelle Transfer Station, Maumelle Yard Waste collection and disposal, and Maumelle Sanitation and Recycling collection and disposal. Public Works is responsible for four separate budgets:
Maumelle Transfer Station As of April1, 2006, the Maumelle Transfer Station is open to Maumelle residents only. Any resident using the Transfer Station must pay the scheduled fee before entering the gate. Proof of Maumelle residency must be shown. Hours of Operation:

Yard Waste Information Yard waste pickups are conducted at the curbside once a week. Yard waste consists of grass trimmings, leaves, pine needles, and small tree limbs. Grass clippings, pine needles, and leaves must be bagged and tied and not to exceed 35lbs. per bag. Tree limbs must not exceed more than 5ft. in length or 3in. in diameter and also must be placed at the curb in reasonable sized amounts which will be determined by the city's operator on duty. Large amounts of brush will be picked up at the resident's request for a small fee depending on the size of the load or the resident may take their brush to the Maumelle Transfer Station. Residents may contact Public Works to find out their scheduled daily pickup. Sanitation Information Residents may contact Public Works for their sanitation schedule or to obtain a sanitation cart. Recycle Information Recycle bins are available to the residents by contacting Public Works at 851-2888. Recyclable items accepted at the curbside include:
Maumelle also has a recycling area located at the Maumelle Transfer Station. Recycle Center hours of operation are:
Items accepted are newspapers/inserts, corrugated cardboard, brown paper grocery bags, clear, green, and brown glass, #1 green and clear plastic bottles, #2 translucent plastic milk jugs, aluminum and steel cans (rinsed), telephone books, catalogs, and office paper/junk mail. Residents may dispose of items such as: televisions, microwaves, stereos/radios, copiers, fax machines, computers, monitors, printers, cell phones, pagers, and any electronic cabling.
