Sales Tax

The state of Arkansas sales tax is 6.000% of gross receipts from the sales of tangible personal property and certain selected services. In addition, Pulaski County imposes a 1.0% tax on the gross receipts from the sales of tangible personal property and certain selected services The city of Maumelle imposes a 1.0% City Sales and Use Tax.

Maumelle Community Service Fee Charge

  • Commercial and industrial customers are charged the Community Service Fee resulting from a calculation based on square footage.
  • The City of Maumelle also imposes a $ 24.00 quarterly Community Service Fee per household for fire and police protection. The fee has helped the city provide the most up-to-date equipment and personnel and has resulted in a Class 3 fire rating. Penalties are assessed on past due balances greater than 3 months.

Utility Franchise Taxes

Residential, Commercial and Industrial Customers

  • These taxes are figured as a percentage of your monthly utility bills.
  • The current percentage is 4 1/4% and is applied by Entergy Corporation, Centerpoint, and AT&T.
  • A 3% franchise tax is applied to Charter Cable services.
  • A 4% franchise tax is applied to BEI Waste Collection Services.

9-1-1

AT&T also is levying a 5% tax for the maintenance and installation of the 9-1-1 emergency communication system.
